Save Your Own Page Template from a Zenpo Layout

You can instantiate a Zenpo layout, arrange Zenpo and native parts on it, and save the result as your own SharePoint page template. This is the supported way to build a house layout that includes Zenpo web parts.

Steps

  1. Run the setup wizard so the layouts exist in the site. See Run the Setup Wizard.
  2. Create a page from a Zenpo layout with New page → from template.
  3. Arrange the page. For example, add Zenpo Side Navigation to a rail.
  4. Use SharePoint's own Save as template.

Mandatory caveats

These limits always apply.

Communication sites only

Save the derived template on a communication site. Team sites do not offer full-width sections.

Site-scoped

The derived template is site-scoped. Repeat the save in each site that needs it. Templates installed by the wizard are also site-specific. Run the wizard again in each site that needs those layouts.

Re-point list bindings

Copied web part instances keep their configuration, including list bindings. Re-point them on the new site or page, or they will point at the original list.

Package dependency

The derived template depends on the Zenpo package remaining installed, because it contains Zenpo web parts. If Zenpo is removed, those parts stop rendering.

Native title region

Pages created from the picker carry SharePoint's own title region. Set a banner image or hide the byline via Page details.
