Zenpo Side Navigation
Zenpo Side Navigation is a designed side-navigation rail driven by one SharePoint list. Each row has a label and an optional image or color tile. You can nest one level of child links, highlight the current page, and let the rail collapse on a phone.
Find it in the web part picker under Text, media, and content, or type Zenpo. It runs on SharePoint Online modern pages only.
The part is read-only. It never writes to the list, except when you ask it to create the optional starter list.
What it does
You keep links in a list you already own. Every page that shows that list stays up to date when you edit the list once. That shared-list-across-pages pattern is the intended setup.
Order comes from the bound view. There is no sort setting anywhere in this web part. The pane states The view sets the order the links appear in — there is no separate sort setting.
For site-closing links at the bottom of a page, see Zenpo Intranet Footer. For the same list presented as a horizontal card grid, see Zenpo Dynamic Blurbs.
Key capabilities
- Your list, your columns. Only Title is required. Map Link, Image, Color, Description, Active, and Parent / Group as needed.
- Tiles or text. Visual placement can be Leading, Trailing, Top, or None.
- One-level nesting. Map Parent / Group, then set Sub-items to Expand in place.
- Current-page highlighting. The matching row gets an accent rail. Matching ignores query strings, anchors, trailing slashes, and letter case.
- Header rows. A row with no link, or an unusable one, renders as a non-interactive heading.
- Mobile collapse. At 640 pixels of viewport width and below, the rail collapses to a single header row that expands into a text-first list.
Limits
- A source larger than 500 items is refused, not truncated: This source contains more than 500 items. Use a filtered view so readers get a rail they can actually scan.
- Nesting is one level. There is no deeper tree.
- There are no mobile-specific settings. The collapse happens automatically.
- The selected View sets order, filter, and item limit. SharePoint permissions always apply.
