Where does Zenpo People Directory get its people from?
From a SharePoint list, or from a .csv file stored in a document library in the same site. There is no Microsoft Graph use and no Azure AD profile sync. It shows the list or file you point it at, as the signed-in user.
Can I use an HR-system CSV export?
Yes, as a file you export and store in SharePoint yourself. That is an HRIS CSV export workflow, not an HR system connection. See the HRIS CSV guide for file rules and for People Directory mapping specifics.
Which columns do I actually need?
Only Name. Photo, Job title, Department, Location, Email, External marker, Hire date, and the manager keys are all optional roles. Each one you leave unmapped simply removes what it powers.
What exactly do readers search?
The name always, plus job title, department, and location, but only where you have mapped those roles. Search ignores case and accents and matches anywhere in the value. The box placeholder is Search {heading}….
Email addresses, manager keys, hire dates, and unmapped columns are not searched.
Where do the filter chips come from?
From the Department and Location mappings, each with its own checkbox under Filter chips from. Unmap a role, or clear its checkbox, and that chip menu disappears.
Clear and Clear filters remove the active search and chips. The A–Z rail label is Starts with {letter}.
Why are the Email, Teams chat and Copy email buttons missing?
Those actions need the optional Email role mapped, and that person to have an email value. Unmapped, no contact actions render anywhere. Copy email confirms with Copied.
Why doesn't the Manager row appear on the detail sheet?
On a SharePoint list it needs the Manager role mapped. On a CSV it needs both Person ID and Manager ID. Mapping only one leaves the Manager and Also reports to rows out. Manager references that match nobody render nothing.
What does Tenure show?
A band from the optional Hire date mapping: <1 yr, 1+ yrs, 5+ yrs, 10+ yrs, or 20+ yrs. It never shows a date of birth or an age.
How are external people marked?
Map External marker. People with a Yes value show an EXTERNAL tag. On a CSV, map that role by hand. It is never detected automatically.
Why does the directory say no people match?
No people match / Try a different name, or clear the filters. The search or chips excluded everyone who was loaded. Clear filters, or check that Name points at the column that actually holds names.
If the bound view returned no rows, check the view's filter and item limit. A source over 5,000 people is refused: This roster contains more than 5000 people. Refine the source or use a smaller organizational scope.
