Simple Blurbs FAQ and Troubleshooting
Answers for in-pane blurb cards: whether you need a list, what a blurb can show, emoji, SAMPLE cards, and image storage.
Do I need a SharePoint list to use Zenpo Simple Blurbs?
No. Every blurb is authored directly in the web part's property pane and stored on that page. If you would rather write the cards once and reuse them across pages, the paid Zenpo Dynamic Blurbs renders the same cards from a SharePoint list.
What can a blurb show?
A title, a short description, an optional category tag, an optional link with its own Read More label, and either an icon or an image, chosen per blurb under Visual.
Can I use an emoji instead of an icon?
Yes. Pick from the curated icon set or type an emoji. An unrecognized icon name falls back to a simple mark rather than an empty box.
What are the cards I see while editing that vanish when I publish?
Sample cards, badged SAMPLE. They appear only while no blurb exists and only to editors: "Sample cards are visible only while editing this page. Add your first blurb in the property pane to replace them — they never appear on the published page." An empty published web part renders nothing at all.
Where do images I upload end up?
In the site's Site Assets library, under your own permissions. You can also pick an existing image from the site, OneDrive, your organization's assets, or stock images, or paste a link.
