Zenpo Banner FAQ and Troubleshooting
Answers to common Zenpo Banner questions, including video backgrounds and why a published page can show nothing.
Can I use a video as the Banner background?
Yes. Set Background to Video and pick a video file already on the site or in OneDrive, or paste a link to one. The video is decorative: it is muted, loops, plays inline and has no controls.
Which video file types are supported?
.mp4, .m4v, .webm, .mov, .ogv and .ogg. Upload large videos to a library first, then pick them.
Can I use a Microsoft Stream player URL?
No. Stream player URLs are not supported — direct file URLs only.
What is the Poster image for?
It is the still image shown in place of the video. The banner stands down to the poster in three situations: for visitors whose device requests reduced motion, if the video fails to play, and for file containers the browser cannot play.
Can readers pause or play the background video?
No. The ambient background video has no on-screen Pause/Play control. It stands down to the poster automatically for visitors whose device requests reduced motion.
Can Banner fill a full-width SharePoint section?
Yes. Banner is one of two Zenpo products that support full-width sections. The other is Zenpo Full Calendar. Full-width sections exist on communication sites. In a full-width section the background runs edge to edge while the text keeps SharePoint's normal content width. Banner also works in ordinary sections.
Can I change which part of the image stays visible without editing the image?
Yes. Focal point is a nine-point grid (Center by default) that sets which part of the image or video stays in view as the banner is cropped at different widths.
Why doesn't my banner appear on the published page?
A heading is required. Without one the banner renders nothing at all on the published page. Editors see a placeholder that says so. Buttons behave the same way. A button renders only when it has both a label and a link.
Do I need separate settings for mobile?
No. The heading size you choose is the desktop target and narrower screens scale down automatically. Heights and padding adjust on their own. There are no per-breakpoint settings.
